Friday Nights, tape on glass, by Max Zorn
The Daily What:

Max Zorn, a self-taught Dutch street artist, uses only translucent packing tape and a mere scalpel to create intricately layered portraits on Plexiglas, which he then hangs on public street lights — you know, for best viewing.
To promote his street art, Zorn has launched a project called Let’s Stick Together, which lets fans sign up to receive their own pieces of tape art, provided they promise to post them publicly.
His gallery can be found here.

Artist Bryan Nash Gill makes ink prints using rescued wood.  He has a book titled Woodcut that showcases these prints.
WSJ:
Red Ash Heartwood. The heartwood is the central nonliving part of the trunk with the densest and hardest wood. This is a full bleed print of the center of the Ash block–the annual ringed radiate form the tree’s first year at the center to the edges of the paper.

kottke:
Last week, graffiti “artist” Kidult painted the word ART in pink paint all over the Marc Jacobs store in Soho. The store’s staff cleaned it up, but not before snapping a photo of it and dubbing it Art by Art Jacobs. And then, in an awesome twist, Marc Jacobs put the photo on a tshirt and offered it for sale: $689 or $9 less if you want it signed by the “artist”. The Observer’s Foster Kamer has the story.

Robert Howsare’s Drawing Apparatus attaches a Sharpie to records spinning on a record player at different revolutions. It’s a good thing this video is only 1 minute 45 seconds, because I could watch it for at least 17 minutes and 6 seconds, and really who has the time?

It’s a neat interactive sculpture in Times Square, special for Valentine’s Day.
Core77:
A BIG red heart pulses with glowing light in a grove of glass rods. A single person can activate the beating heart, but joining hands with others will make the heart beat even faster to create a brightly burning heart.
Hosted by New York City’s Times Square Alliance.
Designed and in built in collaboration between Bjarke Ingels’ BIG, fabricators FLATCUT and media design firm Local Projects.
